On a Saturday Spring morning, Chiado was quite enjoyable as the hordes of tourists were still preparing their backpacks and charging their digital cameras for the day. This gentleman was cutting his hair, oblivious to the mayhem that would follow.
Unfortunately, Lisbon has been taken over by a disease of faux-vintage lettering and graphics applied to cheap franchising businesses. Fortunately, the Victorian sign above is still the real thing, as is the barber shop. Hopefully the aforementioned hordes of visitors to the city will enjoy it as much as we do and contribute to keep it that way, as Chiado has become too expensive for any real people to live. But still beautiful on a Saturday Spring morning!
