JERÓNIMOS

JERÓNIMOS

Much can and will be said about this Monastery which used to stand by the beach. The most purely Gothic part of its church, the nave, has soaring slender columns which hold a cobweb of gothic ribs and rosettes. The mushroom vaults emanating from the columns fuse the ceiling with the structure, eliminating the separation of the naves and thus creating a fully immersive architectural experience of daring proportions in stone.
