Lisbon Coch Museum Doorway Cornice

The entrance hall of the Coach Museum has much delicate stone carving, courtesy of our Italian friend Giacomo Azzolini. The foreign influence helped to soften and refine the typical brutish Portuguese Baroque of the times (which we love too!) and still makes the building stand out – in spite of its low height – around its Pombaline surroundings.
