Museu Militar, Porto.

The Military Museum in Porto is one of many examples of a beautiful house taken over by the State and occupied frugally with little regard for anything over what whatever Institution occupies it sees as functionality. Frugality has the merit of leaving many of the original features untouched though, and boring as this Army museum may be, there are some beautiful halls and rooms and the building remains interesting as an example of late 19th c. Bourgeois architecture and wall decoration.
