DOUBLE CHIMNEY

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Covilhã, center.

Cute overload. There are so many nice details in this fraction of a roof that it’s hard to point them all. This is most likely a rationalist/Estado Novo period house disguised as a vernacular. A simplistic cornice, tiny stone molding below just visible at the corner, “fake” roof tile with a beirado à Portuguesa, (barrel vaulted tile eave) a chimney which can’t decide where to stop, and the wooden dormer visible at the side, lined with straight tiles.
